  • ORMES DE PEZ (ZR16+) (2005 – 260.00); (2009 – 240) FIRM PRICE - £ 240.00 (RP 87-90), (JS 92-93); (JR 17.); (SS 17), Tasted 3 times in Bordeaux, Ormes was the greatest positive surprise for me in 2010. Now fully controlled by the Cazes family of Lynch Bages, Ormes is looking like the property to follow. Parker did not rate it to high in 2010, so the price stayed on the last year level, but for me it was much better structured, more mature wine and I will not be surprised if it gets upgraded in 2 years time when he re tastes it. THIS IS ONE OF MY TOP 3 BUYS FOR THE 2010!!! RP: 87-90 - This dense purple-colored 2010 exhibits dark raspberry and blueberry fruit notes, less power and structure than its neighbor De Pez, but more finesse, elegance and fruit forwardness. This impressively endowed effort should drink nicely for 10-15 years. JS: 92-93 - A wine with lots of flesh and chewy tannins. Full and round, with a lovely texture and finish. Long. These guys are on a roll here. Cazes family of Lynch-Bages. 57 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 34 percent Merlot, 7 percent Cabernet Franc and 2 percent Petit Verdot JR: 17 - Healthy crimson. Ripe and robust. Big and bold without much care for seduction. Very solid but it will take a lot of time to settle down. SS: 17 - Superb concentration of very ripe fruit, lots of richness and depth, will be very impressive. Drink 2016-28.
